Canada: Two injured in stabbing, suspect shot dead by police in downtown Vancouver

OTTAWA, Dec 5 (NNN-XINHUA) — Two people were injured in a stabbing in Vancouver, Canada on Wednesday, and the suspect died after being shot by police, according to a press release.

Officers responded to a call Wednesday morning reporting a man had stolen alcohol and was armed with a knife in a restaurant near Robson and Hamilton Street in downtown Vancouver, Vancouver Police said in the release.

The stabbing suspect was shot by police after being located in a nearby convenience store. Officers and other first responders administered first aid before the suspect was taken to the hospital, where he later died, according to the release.

The two people who were injured in the stabbing before the suspect was shot were taken to the hospital and their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, the release said. — NNN-XINHUA
