Cyclone Fengal’s Landfall Began In South India, Flights Suspended

NEW DELHI, Dec 1 (NNN-PTI) – Cyclone Fengal, began its landfall last night, affecting India’s southern states of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, bringing along heavy rains and adversely affecting flights to and from Chennai city.

The cyclone is expected to hit the Puducherry coast with strong wind speeds extending up to 90 km per hour.

Severe water-logging was reported from several areas in Chennai and nearby places. Normal life was impacted, as people chose to remain indoors in the affected areas.

According to an official statement, issued by the Chennai airport, all flight operations have been shut, till 4:00 a.m. today.– NNN-PTI
