AMMAN, Jordan, June 13 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan said, any economic proposition, cannot be an alternative to the desired political solution to the Palestinian issue.
The remarks were made by the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Jumana Ghunaimat, who added that, Jordan’s position on the Palestinian issue is unwavering.
“Any economic offer cannot be an alternative to a political solution that ends the occupation and attains peace on the basis of the two-state solution, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and the international legitimacy resolutions,” she said, in a statement.
She stressed Jordan’s commitment to the two-state solution, that leads to the creation of an independent Palestinian state at the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The minister added that Jordan has always been warning against the lack of a political solution, which will lead to increased despair amid continued Israeli violations.
The minister also urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards the Palestinian issue and positively engage in efforts in this regard.– NNN-PETRA
