ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, yesterday, highlighted his country’s unwavering commitment to the rights, well-being, and development of children, terming them, the most valuable asset of the nation.
“It is our collective responsibility to protect and fulfill the rights of every child, without discrimination, and ensure that every child has access to quality education, healthcare, and a safe, nurturing environment,” Sharif said in his message, on the occasion of World Children’s Day.
The prime minister said, the Pakistani government has implemented several initiatives to improve children’s lives, including establishing special schools to provide quality education to underprivileged children, in remote and underserved areas.
The schools have transformed the lives of countless children, offering them a pathway to a brighter future, he said, adding that, the education emergency was declared by mobilising resources to improve literacy rates, rebuild schools, and ensure quality education to the children in the country.
Commenting on the out-of-school children in Pakistan, Sharif said, special efforts are being made to enroll millions of out-of-school children, through targeted campaigns, community outreach, and incentives for families to send their children to school.
Besides that, to address malnutrition and improve learning outcomes, the country has introduced nutrition programmes in public schools, ensuring that children receive healthy meals that support their physical and cognitive development, he said.– NNN-APP
