COLOMBO, Nov 19 (NNN-XINHUA) – Twenty-five recruits have been hospitalised and around 500 others placed under quarantine, following a fever outbreak at an army training school in northern Sri Lanka, the army said, yesterday.
The army said in a statement that, the Army Commando Regiment Special Warfare Training School was under quarantine.
The training of the recruits commenced on Nov 11, and the first cases were detected a few days later, according to the army.
The army said, the situation was under control, and necessary measures have been taken to prevent further spread of the disease.– NNN-XINHUA
