ADDIS ABABA, Nov 15 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The International Business Forum “Russia-Ethiopia: no time to lose”, considered a reliable platform to establish bilateral cooperation and promote Russian products and technologies in Africa, concludes Thursday.
Thirty-five Russian companies representing various sectors of the economy participated in the event: industry, agricultural companies, transport and communications, banking, digital solutions, technology and information, cybersecurity, education, and culture.
The Ethiopian attendees were the companies Ethiopian Investment Holding, Ethio Telecom, the Construction Works Corporation, the National Bank, and the Kilinto and Bole Lemi industrial parks.
Representatives from Mali, Burkina Faso, and the Ivory Coast were also at the forum.
The president of the Coordinating Committee for Economic Cooperation with African Countries, Igor Morozov, recognized Ethiopia’s strategic position in Africa, in particular its recent inclusion in the BRICS, as well as the rich strong cultural and historical connection between the two countries, which point to their shared heritage as a solid foundation for a long-lasting partnership.
“We opened our continental office. From Ethiopia, we have decided to enter other African countries and African markets. We have observed that Ethiopia is developing dynamically and rapidly creating a favorable investment climate,” he stressed.
Morozov also cited,as favorable for investment, the establishment of free trade zones and industrial parks in various parts of Ethiopia and expressed optimism about the African country’s role as an emerging hub for Russian business. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
