COLOMBO, Oct 15 (NNN-XINHUA) – One worker died and 19 were injured, yesterday, following the exploding of a boiler at a factory, in Badalgama, in western Sri Lanka.
The deceased is 52 years old and the injured are being treated at nearby hospitals, police said.
Police said, the explosion occurred due to excessive pressure within the boiler, while it was in operation.
Badalgama police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
At present, Sri Lanka doesn’t have a national policy on occupational safety and health, the health ministry said.– NNN-XINHUA
