NAIROBI, Oct 6 (NNN-KBC) — The First Lady of Serbia, Tamara Vučić, visited Kenya as part of her Africa tour at State House, where she was hosted by Kenya’s First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto.
The First Ladies discussions revolved around Kenya-Serbia shared priorities on youth empowerment and education.
Thereafter, the First Ladies visited the AEF Reuben Primary School in Embakasi South Constituency, where the First Lady of Serbia donated tablets to boost the school’s digital learning capacity and enable the learners to develop digital skills at an early age.
Tamara Vučić encouraged the learners at AEF Reuben Primary School to seek knowledge and learning
opportunities through the digital tablets donated to the school Rachel Ruto emphasised the value of education as the great equaliser, that makes all children have equal opportunities in life.
She thanked the founders of the AEF Reuben Primary School for their commitment to moulding the lives of the children.
Tamara thanked the County Government of Nairobi for the “Dishi Na County” feeding program that supports Government policy for 100% enrolment and transition.
John Tanui, the Principal Secretary of, the State Department of ICT and Digital Economy appreciated the input by the First Lady of Serbia to Kenya’s digital agenda.
The provision of digital devices is one of the Strategies under the digital superhighway pillar in the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda by the Government.
Other leaders present included Dr. Belio Kipsang, Principal Secretary, State Department for Basic Education and Suzanne Silantoi, CEC, Health, Wellness, and Nutrition in Nairobi County Government, who was representing Governor Johnson Sakaja. — NNN-KBC
