DHAKA, Oct 3 (NNN-BSS) – Bangladesh inflation decreased to 9.92 percent in Sept, from 10.49 percent in Aug, according to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
The Consumer Price Index released by the BBS showed that, food inflation declined to 10.40 percent in Sept, from 11.36 percent in Aug.
Likewise, inflation in the non-food sector has also come down slightly.
Inflation in this sector was 9.74 percent in Aug, which decreased to 9.50 percent in Sept, the data showed.
The country’s average inflation surged to 9.73 percent in the fiscal year 2023-24 (July 2023-June 2024), much higher than the budgetary target of 7.5 percent.– NNN-BSS
