HAVANA, Sept 27 (NNN-ACN) — Algeria made an over 146-ton food donation for the Cuban people.
The donation includes cooking oil, rice, pasta and other foodstuffs handed in to the island during a ceremony in Havana attended by representatives of the Algerian embassy and officials from the Cuban ministries of Foreign Affair, Domestic and Foreign Trade.
Algerian ambassador to Havana Abdelkrim Benchiah, said that donation entails the feeling of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
Solidarity between Cuba and Algeria is the testimony of the historic relations established between the two countries many years ago, marked by constructive dialog and cooperation, the diplomat noted.
Cuban deputy Minister for Foreign Trade and Investment, Deborah Rivas, extended the appreciation to Algerian authorities on behalf of the government, Communist Party and people of Cuba. — NNN-ACN
