Venezuela proposes to host China-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Summit in 2026

BEIJING, Sept 23 (NNN-TELESUR) –Venezuela presented before the China’s Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), its intention to host the China – Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Business Summit in 2026, according to the Venezelan authorities.

CCPIT president Ren Hongbin was grateful for Venezuela’s interest in hosting this important event, which is held annually and alternately in China and countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

This forum is part of the initiatives of the China-Celac Forum, being crucial to promote economic and commercial cooperation between both regions so that edition 2026 promises to be a significant milestone for further strengthening ties between Asia and Latin America.

In this regard, during the presentation meeting, the Ambassador of Venezuela to China, Giuseppe Yoffreda Yorio, underlined the willingness of the country to strengthen trade and investment cooperation.

Yoffreda Yorio also highlighted Venezuela’s abundant raw materials, which could strengthen China’s industrial supply chain, contributing to the security, quality and stability of global supplies.

The Ambassador in China highlighted the investment opportunities that Venezuela’s legal and institutional framework offers to Chinese companies, like the recent Bilateral Investment Treaty.

In addition, he reported that Venezuela already complies with the sanitary protocols required by China to export of various products, such as shrimp, coffee, avocado and cocoa, which opens up a range of possibilities for commercial collaboration.

For his part, Hongbin, praised the sustained growth of Venezuela in the last thirteen quarters and pledged to submit the proposal to the competent institutions and reaffirmed the CCPIT’s willingness to strengthen cooperation ties with Venezuela, consider it a strategic partner of China in Latin America. — NNN-TELESUR
