Seven Killed In Wall Collapse Following Heavy Rains In Madhya Pradesh

NEW DELHI, Sept 13 (NNN-PTI) – Seven members of a family were killed, and two others were rescued from the debris yesterday, after a wall collapsed on two mud houses, in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, officials said.

The wall collapsed in the Khalkapura locality of Datia district, about 409 km north of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh.

A senior local government official, Sandeep Makin, said that, the incident occurred when a 400-year-old wall of the Rajgarh Fort collapsed.

Officials said, the wall consisted of very large blocks. It gave way because of the heavy rainfall for over two days, which weakened its structure.– NNN-PTI
