Trigana Aircraft Skidded In Indonesia’s Papua Province

JAKARTA, Sept 9 (NNN-ANTARA) – An aircraft of Indonesia’s Trigana Air, skidded at Kamanap Serui Airport, in Papua province, this morning. No casualties were reported.

Trigana Air Deputy Area Manager, Irwan Rochendi, as reported by local media, stated that, the accident happened at 8:35 a.m. local time. The plane was carrying 42 passengers, including one baby, along with six crew members.

Capt Lalu Yuniza, the airline’s director of safety, security and quality, said, the aircraft was at the outside of the airport area, when it slipped from the left side of the runway towards the south for about 20 metres. He also noted that, there has been no report regarding the cause of the accident.

“We are still waiting for any information from the pilot about how and why the plane skidded,” he said, adding that, the accident caused great loss because the plane was badly damaged.– NNN-ANTARA
