KABUL, Aug 30 (NNN-ANA) – Afghanistan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, has implemented 271 agriculture and livestock projects in the past year, a report from the ministry said, yesterday.
The projects were valued at 300 million U.S. dollars in total, the report noted.
According to the report, work on irrigation projects worth 50 million afghanis (about 700,000 U.S. dollars) is underway in 11 provinces. With the completion of these projects, 6,780 hectares of agricultural land will be irrigated, in a bid to assist drought-ridden regions.– NNN-ANA
