Bolivia and EU Favor Strengthening Integration and Cooperation

LA PAZ, June 5 (NNN-Prensa Latina) – Representatives of Bolivia and the European Union (EU) in this country agreed on the need to strengthen integration and cooperation to confront common problems and challenges.

‘The EU’s participation in Bolivia has always been a relationship of respect for the State’s sovereignty (…) and, therefore, we highlight and prioritize that kind of cooperation,’ Bolivian Foreign Minister Diego Pary Rodriguez said at a meeting in this city.

Pary praised the efforts being made by the EU to facilitate and promote dialogue with Latin American countries and, in that regard, he expressed Bolivia’s interest in contributing to the development of the region from the pro tempore presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States and the Andean Community.

‘We are interested in strengthening the relationship of our regions, having greater dialogue and in that framework, we are willing to continue to work,’ the head of Bolivian diplomacy added.

For his part, EU Ambassador to Bolivia Leon de la Torre called to bet on reciprocal trade and investment based on multilateralism, as well as an increasingly stronger relationship among the countries of the region.

These statements were made in the framework of the conference ‘Trajectory of Relations between the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the European Union, Vision and Future,’ held in La Paz.
