ROME, June 5 (Prensa Latina) Unemployment in Italy stayed at 10.2 percent in April, compared to the previous month, the National Statistics Institute (Istat) has reported on Tuesday.
The number of unemployed in that month reached 2,652,000, a decrease of 5,000 compared to March, while on a yearly average, there was a decrease of 0.7 tenths of a percentage point from the figure recorded in April 2018, equivalent to 203,000 units.
Istat’s report indicates that unemployment among 15-24 year olds soared to 31.4 percent in April, 0.8 points higher than the previous month and 1.6 points lower than the level reported in April 2018.
