Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force Seized Over 234 Kg Drugs, Five  Arrested

ISLAMABAD, Aug 24 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), conducted four operations in different areas of the country, recovering over 234 kg of drugs, and arresting five smugglers, the ANF said, yesterday.

During the operations, the ANF recovered drugs, including opium, hashish, heroin and others, the ANF said in a statement.

In two separate operations in the federal capital, Islamabad, the ANF seized over 230 kg of narcotics, including opium and hashish, the ANF statement said, adding that, the drugs were recovered when the ANF personnel intercepted two vehicles on a motorway.

Two smugglers were also arrested during the operations in Islamabad, said the ANF.

In the country’s southern port city of Karachi of Sindh province, 400 grams of methamphetamine and 200 grams of hashish were seized from two accused, nabbed in two separate operations, said the statement.

Separately, over 1.5 kg of heroin was recovered from a woman, arrested from Faisalabad district of eastern Punjab province, the ANF said.

The ANF said that, separate cases have been registered against the accused, while further investigations are under process.– NNN-APP
