Trucks Turned To Ashes As Customs’ Parking Lot Caught Fire In Western Afghan City

KABUL, Aug 15 (NNN-ANA) – Several trucks carrying commercial goods have turned to ashes as customs’ parking lot caught fire, in Herat city, the provincial capital of the western Afghanistan’s Herat province, deputy to the Customs’ office, Mawlawi Esmatullah Yasar said, today.

The fire erupted last night, due to technical problem, and devoured several trucks at the parking lot and depots nearby, inflicting huge damages, the official said, adding, the fire was extinguished late last night.

In the meantime, provincial police spokesman, Abdullah Insaf, said, the fire has caused no loss of life, saying, the property damage might be in the millions of U.S. dollars, and the exact figure would be made public after completion of assessment and investigation.– NNN-ANA
