Vietnam’s Fruit, Vegetable Exports Up 23.4 Percent In Seven Months

HANOI, Aug 14 (NNN-VNA) – Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports reached 3.8 billion U.S. dollars, in the first seven months of this year, up 23.4 percent year on year, the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association was cited as saying.

The country’s fruit and vegetable industry gained a trade surplus of almost 2.6 billion dollars, during the cited period, said the report.

Dang Phuc Nguyen, the association’s general secretary, said, the Northeast Asian countries, such as China, South Korea and Japan, accounted for 80 percent of the export value.

According to the association, since the beginning of this year, the strong increase in market demand has pushed the export of fruits and vegetables up.– NNN-VNA
