Venezuela government warns its citizens of false system in consular affairs management

KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 (NNN-BERNAMA) — The Venezuelan government warned its citizens overseas of attempts by certain quarters to create a false system in the management of its consular affairs, stressing that only Venezuelan documents accepted as valid throughout the world are issued and managed by Venezuela’s authorities.

Caracas, in a communiqué issued on June 1, also warned that any alteration of documents and the falsification of official seals is a crime in Venezuela as well as in other countries.

The communiqué was sent to Bernama International News Service through the Embassy of Venezuela in Kuala Lumpur, here, today.

It said the false system will cause errors, rendering the validity of users’ documents as well as the success of the negotiations related to the legality of their immigration status in the country of destination to be at risk.

It added that the government deemed all alteration and falsification of the documents involved to be invalid.

“These illegal agencies have also been given the task of announcing the start-up of supposed ‘consular registration’ systems, which are nothing more than private data collection of citizens,” it said.

According to the communiqué, Venezuela has a network of 118 consular offices in 89 countries.

“They provide daily attention to the public that comes to request various services,” it said.
