GUATEMALA CITY, Aug 7 (NNN-AGENCIES) — A 15-year-old girl had her head severed by a power line before falling from a two-storey building as crowds watched from below in a Guatemalan town.

The incident was captured on video and shows the teenager, Débora Rebeca Xi Artola, dancing and taking selfies with friends on a rooftop in La Tinta last Thursday before her demise, the New York Post reported.

They were practising dance moves on the rooftop when Débora hit a high-voltage power line, which may have killed her instantly. Another video filmed from below shows the crowd rushing to the girl, who was engulfed in smoke.

The condition of the teenager was distressing, as her head was severed, causing her to fall about six metres from the building. The victim’s mother, Andrea Xi, paid tribute to her daughter on Facebook by posting a photo of Débora smiling during her quinceañera, or 15th birthday celebration, last March.

“I love you forever. My daughter,” read one of the posts.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine that it was accidental. — NNN-AGENCIES
