India’s Seafood Exports Grew Over 30 Percent In Five Years

NEW DELHI, Aug 7 (NNN-PTI) – India’s seafood exports witnessed a remarkable growth of 30.81 percent in the past five fiscal years, showed data released by the federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry, yesterday.

In fiscal year (FY) 2019-20, the seafood exports’ value stood at 466.628 billion Indian rupees (5.56 billion U.S. dollars), and rose to 610.436 billion Indian rupees (7.27 billion U.S. dollars) in FY 2023-24.

As per the official data, over the past five fiscal years, India’s marine product exports steadily increased from 1.33 million tonnes in FY 2019-20, to an estimated 1.82 million tonnes in FY 2023-24.

The top five destinations for India’s seafood exports were the United States, China, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand.– NNN-PTI
