NEW DELHI, Aug 5 (NNN-PTI) – At least six persons died and 46 others were injured, when a passenger bus collided head-on with a car coming from the opposite direction, in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh, a local police officer, said, yesterday.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday on Agra-Lucknow Expressway. According to the police officer, the car was moving in the wrong lane, which was the main cause of the accident.
The private double-decker bus, moving from Rae Bareli area of Uttar Pradesh to Delhi, was carrying around 60 passengers. The dead included three passengers aboard the bus, while the rest of the deceased were occupants of the car, the officer added.
The bus fell off the road, resulting in injuries of the passengers inside. The car was badly mangled in the accident. The injured were admitted to a local hospital.– NNN-PTI
