MANILA, Aug 5 (NNN-PNA) – An unidentified gunman shot dead a male police officer, in General Santos City in southern Philippines, before dawn yesterday, police said.
General Santos City Police Director, Colonel Nicomedes Olaivar, said, the ambush happened at around 3.00 a.m. local time, near a subdivision in the city, killing the 29-year-old off-duty police officer instantly.
Olaivar said, the officer was heading home on a motorcycle, and died from three gunshot wounds in the head and body.
Police launched an investigation into the attack.– NNN-PNA
