NEW DELHI, Aug 1 (NNN-PTI) – Water-logging and long traffic snarls were witnessed in many areas in India’s capital, Delhi, and nearby places, following heavy rains last night.
The meteorological department said that, widespread light to moderate rains would continue for the next couple of hours, in and around the capital city.
“Clouds have converged over Delhi from all four sectors. Widespread light/moderate rainfall, with isolated intense to very intense spell (3-5 cm/hour) likely over Delhi during the next 2 hours,” said the India Meteorological Department, in a weather forecast.
Meanwhile, efforts were being made to pump out water from roads.
The nearby city of Gurugram, a part of the northern state of Haryana, was also faced with water-logging and traffic jams at various places.– NNN-PTI
