Bangladesh Recorded 272 New Dengue Cases, Two More Deaths

DHAKA, Jul 29 (NNN-BSS) – Bangladesh reported 272 new dengue cases and two new deaths, in the last 24 hours, as of 8:00 a.m. local time yesterday, taking the tally to 5,768, and the death toll to 55, so far, this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), under the Ministry of Health, said.

According to the DGHS, 2,117 dengue cases were recorded, so far, this month, after 798 in June and 644 in May.

The total of 55 deaths included 11 in July, eight in June and 12 in May.

The June-Sept monsoon period is the season of dengue fever in Bangladesh, which is considered a high-risk country, prone to the mosquito-borne disease.– NNN-BSS
