Panamanian authorities arrest two Ecuadorians for drug trafficking

PANAMA CITY, July 28 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Panamanian authorities reportedly arrested two Ecuadorians for drug trafficking in Pedasi, in western Los Santos province.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office said that the detainees were transporting three kilos of liquid cocaine in a vessel bound for another Central American country.

The two traffickers were located by a patrol boat of the National Air and Naval Service (SENAN), which found the vessel drifting near Punta Mala, in which 295,000 dollars were also seized, presumably part of the payment for transporting the drugs.

The report stated that the vessel was transporting the drugs from Colombia. After suffering a technical malfunction, the current swept it away.

SENAN agents indicated that the liquid cocaine is being distributed by the Clan del Golfo criminal gang, hidden with other cargo to evade surveillance. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
