Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan To Increase Trade To Two Billion USD

TASHKENT, Jul 20 (NNN-UzA) – Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan plan to increase bilateral trade to two billion U.S. dollars, the press service of the president of Uzbekistan said.

Uzbek President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, discussed issues related to Uzbek-Kyrgyz cooperation during the meeting with Kyrgyz President, Sadyr Japarov, who was on a state visit to Uzbekistan from Jul 18 to 19, the press service said in a statement.

“The importance of developing comprehensive measures to bring trade turnover to two billion dollars in the coming years was emphasised,” the statement said.

Priority attention was given to the prompt practical implementation of strategic regional projects, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, it added.

“The head of Uzbekistan noted that the state visit of the president of Kyrgyzstan to our country has become historic and marks the beginning of a new chapter in the multifaceted Uzbek-Kyrgyz cooperation,” said the statement.– NNN-UzA
