RAMALLAH, Palestine, June 1 (NNN-MA’AN) – Palestinian Ministry of Health, said that, a young Palestinian boy was shot dead by Israeli forces, in the West Bank.
In a press statement, the ministry said that the 16-year-old victim is identified as Abdallah Louai Gheith, who died near Bethlehem, after being shot in the heart and lungs by Israeli soldiers.
The ministry said, another Palestinian, 21 years old, was rushed to surgery after he was injured by a bullet in the abdomen.
According to local sources, Israeli soldiers at a military checkpoint, east of Bethlehem, opened fire towards the Palestinians, who were trying to access Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan.
Israeli public radio said, Gheith was killed “while attempting to sneak” into East Jerusalem.
Palestinians accuse Israel of imposing tight restrictions on their access from the West Bank and Gaza Strip into East Jerusalem for prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.– NNN-MA’AN
