DAMASCUS, Jul 16 (NNN-SANA) – Syrian businessman, Bara’a Al-Qaterji, was killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting his car, near the Lebanese-Syrian border yesterday afternoon, according to the pro-government Al-Watan newspaper.
The strike, which occurred near the Masnaa crossing, on the Beirut-Damascus road, also resulted in the death of another individual, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The car, bearing Lebanese license plates, was hit by what is believed to be an Israeli drone.
As usual, there was no Israeli comment on the strike.
Al-Qaterji is reported to have close ties to the Syrian administration and Iranian militias, and is listed on the sanctions lists of both the United States and Britain.
On Jul 9, an Israeli drone attack killed a former bodyguard of Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah. The attack also took place on the Beirut-Damascus highway.– NNN-SANA
