One Dead, Two Toddlers Missing In Southern Philippine Flash Flood

MANILA, Jul 11 (NNN-PNA) – A 14-year-old boy has died and two toddlers, aged 2 and 3, have been reported missing, after a flash flood swept through four towns in Lanao del Sur province, in the southern Philippines, police and local officials said.

Jennie Tamano, the provincial information officer, said, torrential rains triggered a flash flood in the four towns on Tuesday night, affecting more than 3,000 villagers. Police said, the flood damaged more than 100 houses.

The province has launched search, rescue, and retrieval operations, to find the missing sisters, whose house was destroyed by rampaging floodwaters.

A team has also conducted road-clearing operations to remove debris from the highways.– NNN-PNA
