Mongolia Celebrates National Flag Day Today

ULAN BATOR, Jul 10 (NNN-APA) – Mongolia celebrates its National Flag Day today, to honour the national flag, preserve historical customs and traditions, and strengthen national unity.

A national flag-raising ceremony took place at the central square, attended by Mongolian President, Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, Parliament Speaker, Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan, Prime Minister, Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene, cabinet and parliament members, veterans, as well as, thousands of citizens and representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions in Mongolia.

In commemoration, a parade featuring 1,500 military and police personnel was held in the central square. Additionally, by decree of the Mongolian President, a ceremony was held to permanently raise a 16×8-metre national flag on a 60-metre-high pole in Ulan Bator Park, in the capital city.

National Flag Day has been celebrated since 2009, on Jul 10, one day before the traditional Naadam festival kicks off.– NNN-APA
