Nearly 60 Hospitalised After Food Poisoning In Southern Myanmar

YANGON, Jul 10 (NNN-MNA) – Nearly 60 people in Kyauk Yay Twin village, located in Bilin town of Mon state, were hospitalised, due to food poisoning, a local administrator said, yesterday.

The first 13 individuals began experiencing vomiting after consuming chicken biryani and mango pickles, at a wedding ceremony on Monday, an official from Bilin town, said.

Subsequently, almost all attendees of the wedding began to vomit, with the number of affected individuals rising to nearly 60, he said.

As of yesterday, most have been discharged from the hospital, although some are still receiving treatment, he said.

There are no life-threatening cases, according to the official.– NNN-MNA
