LIMA, July 6 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte affirmed that her administration aims to guarantee peace and social tranquility in Peru, aiming to deliver the final blow to terrorism, completely eliminating this threat.
Remarks were made at the ceremony commemorating the 41st anniversary of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) Anti-Terrorism Directorate (Dircote).
“To the men and women of Peru, I say that in our Government we guarantee peace and social tranquility, aiming to deliver the final blow and completely eliminate the terrorist threat,” she stated.
The Head of State specified that Peruvians who love their homeland must prevent proselytizing acts that seek to attract followers by indoctrinating innocent minds, “who are deceived by ideologies that use death to capture power.”
“In our Government, we have not yielded even a millimeter in the task of keeping at bay Shining Path remnants and their macabre actions, to ensure that history never repeats itself,” she said.
The top official indicated that law enforcement agencies in recent years hit the Shining Path structure and detained several leaders of its top brass, with the purpose of eradicating its actions and recovering absolute peace in the most remote area of the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (Vraem).
Moreover, Boluarte underscored the efforts undertaken by Dircote in the fight against terrorism, as well as thanked its members for their dedicated work in favor of national pacification.
“You have been one of the main actors; this institution has very significant milestones in the fight against terrorism, such as the capture of (Shining Path ringleader) Abimael Guzman or your participation in Operation Chavin de Huantar,“ she expressed.
“Currently, Dircote, relying on strong Government support, continues to fight for peace, aiming towards a prosperous society where dialogue prevails,” she added.
Moreover, the top official affirmed that the latent slogan is “terrorism never again.” Therefore, with everyone’s help, efforts will continue being undertaken “without any rest until terrorist remnants are behind bars.”
“We’ll never surrender on this objective, never, and no organization that disrupts peace will find a place in this space. We will remain steadfast in the fight against terrorism,“ she concluded. — NNN-ANDINA
