Re-Elected Mongolian PM Urges Legislators To Prioritise National Development Over Politicisation

ULAN BATOR, Jul 6 (NNN-APA) – Following his re-election, Mongolian Prime Minister, Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene, called upon the country’s newly elected legislators, yesterday, to avoid politicising issues crucial for national development.

Oyun-Erdene was re-elected for another term as the country’s prime minister, yesterday, with his ruling Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) securing a narrow majority, in the regular elections of the parliament, known as the State Great Khural, held on Jun 28.

In an address, Oyun-Erdene emphasised the urgency of fully funding several ongoing projects from the past four years, urging legislators to collaborate across party lines, for the nation’s advancement.

He also advocated for policy reforms, particularly in coal and natural resource exports, given that, mining products currently constitute 93 percent of Mongolia’s exports.

Oyun-Erdene is expected to form his new government within the coming week.– NNN-APA
