Three Drowned In Stagnant Rainwater In Delhi

NEW DELHI, Jun 30 (NNN-PTI) – A middle-aged man and two boys, aged between nine and 10 years, died, after they drowned in stagnant rainwater in different parts of Delhi yesterday, confirmed a Delhi Police officer.

Rains hit the Indian capital city on Friday morning, and the rainwater had been stagnant for over 24 hours, due to a poor drainage system in the Indian capital.

Due to severe water-logging on Friday post rains at several places in the Indian capital, many vehicles were seen submerged in water on roads, in underpasses and under bridges.

In a weather forecast, the India Meteorological Department yesterday said that, Delhi and its surrounding areas would witness heavy rains over the next two to three days.– NNN-PTI
