Four Of Family Died In Delhi House Fire

NEW DELHI, Jun 28 (NNN-PTI) – Four members of a family died of asphyxiation in New Delhi, after fire broke out in their house, during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, confirmed a local police officer.

The deceased included the husband, wife and their two sons aged 22 and 21 years. The incident occurred in the Indian capital’s Dwarka area.

According to preliminary investigation, the fire broke out in an inverter, and thereafter spread to the furniture kept inside the house.

The four family members were asleep when the fire broke out. They inhaled smoke being emitted from the furniture, and couldn’t find an escape route. By the time their neighbours came to know, it was too late, and all the four had died due to asphyxiation, said the police.

Delhi Fire Services (DFS) personnel, doused the fire and retrieved the four bodies from inside the house. They were sent to a hospital for post-mortem.– NNN-PTI
