Philippine Troops Killed Three Suspected Rebels

MANILA, Jun 25 (NNN-PNA) – Three suspected rebels have been killed, in clashes in Batangas province, south of Manila, the Philippine military said, yesterday.

In a report, the military said, fighting broke out between government forces and members of the New People’s Army (NPA), on Sunday, in Tuy town.

The clashes resulted in the killing of the three rebels and the recovery of firearms and explosives.

NPA rebels have been fighting against government troops since 1969.

Despite the decreasing fighters, NPA rebels concentrate their attacks on rural areas and have skirmishes with the military.– NNN-PNA
