LIMA, June 25 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peruvian Pres Dina Boluarte began her trip to the People’s Republic of China, where she will make a State visit from June 26 to 28, following an invitation extended by President Xi Jinping.
Within the framework of this State visit, Boluarte’s work agenda includes important political and business meetings in the strategic cities of Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing.
On June 28, she will meet with China’s highest authorities, including President Xi Jinping.
The People’s Republic of China maintains ancient ties of friendship and cooperation, high level political-diplomatic and economic-commercial relations with Peru, which have resulted in a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and a Free Trade Agreement that is in the process of being updated.
The State visit will allow for expanding and strengthening these ties with China —Peru’s main trading partner and one of the South American country’s largest investors.
In Shenzhen, the top official will inaugurate, at the National Museum, an important exhibit of more than 150 pre-Columbian pieces from 14 Peruvian museums, which will disseminate knowledge of Peru’s ancestral civilizations and promote Chinese inbound tourism.
Boluarte will hold a meeting with Huawei multinational company’s chairman, on which occasion an agreement will be signed for the training of 20,000 young professionals, women, as well as small- and medium-sized entrepreneurs in new information technologies, especially in artificial intelligence (AI).
Furthermore, the Peruvian president will meet with the chairman of BYD company —the largest multinational of electric and intelligent vehicles in the world, an opportunity on which she will invite him to consider installing an electric car plant in Peru.
In Shanghai, Boluarte will hold a meeting with the chairman of Cosco Shipping, the main shareholder of the Chancay Megaport that will be inaugurated next November in the South American country.
Similarly, the president and State ministers who accompany her will participate as speakers at the conference on “Investment Opportunities in Peru” before more than 250 Chinese business leaders.
In the Chinese capital city, Beijing, on June 28, President Boluarte will hold the most important meetings of her State visit with the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (Legislative Branch), the prime minister of the State Council (Executive Branch), and with President Xi Jinping.
On the occasion of this presidential meeting, important agreements will be signed to strengthen political dialogue, investments, technology transfer, tourism, and greater access of Peruvian products to the large Chinese market. — NNN-ANDINA
