22 Terrorists Arrested In 152 Operations In Pakistan’s Punjab

ISLAMABAD, Jun 23 (NNN-APP) – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the police, arrested 22 terrorists during 152 separate operations in Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province on Friday night, said a spokesperson yesterday.

A spokesperson from the CTD said in a statement that, the personnel conducted the intelligence-based operations after receiving information about possible attacks by the terrorists.

According to the spokesperson, operations were conducted in the 14 districts of the province, and the arrested terrorists included two from the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, and one from al-Qaeda.

The personnel also confiscated explosives, hand grenades, eight detonators, safety fuse wire, improvised explosive devices, electric and digital gadgets, and a large amount of foreign currency.

The spokesperson added that, the terrorists were planning to conduct attacks at different places in the province.

The CTD has conducted 743 combing operations in the province during the week, arresting 104 suspects and interrogating 27,062 individuals, the spokesperson added.– NNN-APP
