ISLAMABAD, Jun 23 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s cement exports increased by 40.46 percent, in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, starting from Jul 2023 to Jun 2024, compared to the same period of the last fiscal year, officials from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), said yesterday.
According to PBS officials, the country’s cement exports were recorded at 236.797 million U.S. dollars in May-Jul of the current fiscal year, as against 168.583 million dollars during the same months of fiscal year 2022-23.
In terms of quantity, cement exports also surged by 66.78 percent, going up from 3,707,427 metric tonnes to 6,183,117 metric tonnes.
The PBS said that, on a year-on-year basis, cement exports during May, 2024 increased by 78.23 percent to 32.251 million dollars, compared to exports of 18.095 million dollars in May, 2023.
Meanwhile, on a month-on-month basis, cement exports witnessed an increase of 28.62 percent in May, 2024, when compared to the exports of 25.074 million dollars in Apr, 2024.– NNN-APP
