YANGON, Jun 14 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar exported over 180,000 tonnes of rice and broken rice in the first two months of the fiscal year 2024-25, earning over 91 million U.S. dollars, the Myanmar Rice Federation reported, yesterday.
In Apr, the country exported 111,862 tonnes of rice and broken rice, with 111,462 tonnes through overseas trade and 400 tonnes through border trade.
In May, 71,279 tonnes of rice and broken rice were exported, including 70,751 tonnes through overseas trade and 528 tonnes through border trade.
The country exported rice and broken rice to more than 20 countries and regions, including Indonesia, the Philippines, China, Poland, Malaysia, Belgium, the Netherlands and Vietnam.
In the 2023-24 fiscal year, Myanmar exported over 1.6 million tonnes of rice and broken rice, earning over 845 million dollars, according to the federation.– NNN-MNA
