Afghan Gov’t Ratifies 14 Projects Worth Over 56 Million USD

KABUL, Jun 6 (NNN-ANA) – The Afghan caretaker government’s national procurement commission, has ratified 14 projects worth more than four billion afghanis (about 56 million U.S. dollars), a senior official said in a statement, yesterday.

The participants of the commission, led by Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, discussed 24 projects in different fields and approved 14 of them.

The approved projects include the reconstruction of the remaining sections of the Kabul-Kandahar highway, the provision of electrical equipment for various provinces’ electricity companies, and the construction of roads in the outskirts of Kabul city, the statement said.

The projects are expected to provide job opportunities to hundreds of thousands of local residents.– NNN-ANA
