YANGON, Jun 5 (NNN-MNA) – An explosion occurred at a primary school in southern Myanmar’s Tanintharyi Region, killing one child and injuring 23 people, the Information Team of Myanmar’s State Administration Council reported, late yesterday.
The explosion occurred at around 12:40 p.m. local time yesterday, in Dawei town of Tanintharyi Region, the report said.
While cleaning the campus, the students found a bomb, left over from the previous terrorist attack, and brought it to the teacher. But the bomb dropped and exploded, killing one student and injuring 22 others and a student’s parent.
The injured were sent to local hospitals for medical treatment.
The security forces were carrying out mine clearance on the school campus, the information team said.– NNN-MNA
