Urgent: 5.9-Magnitude Quake Rocked Japan’s Noto Region

TOKYO, Jun 3 (NNN-NHK) – An earthquake, with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9, jolted off Japan’s Noto region in Ishikawa prefecture early today, the country’s weather agency said.

No tsunami warning was issued by the authorities.

On Jan 1, a series of strong quakes of up to 7.6 magnitude rattled the Noto region and its vicinity, and triggered a tsunami.– NNN-NHK
