Dominica’s police seizes 575 kilos of cocaine

ROSEAU, June 2 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The acting head of Dominica’s Police Davidson Valerie revealed on Saturday to local press that officers seized packages with 575 kilograms of cocaine in the east coast of the country.

Valerie detailed that the authorities intercepted 17 packages on Tuesday, and arrested four suspects who are being investigated.

“We’ll chase the persons involved in these illegal activities at sea and on land to ensure that they are brought to justice,” he ensured.

According to the Dominica News Online website, a total of 2.5 tons of cocaine, with an estimated street value of about EC$67 million equivalent to around USD$24 million has been seized in the past six weeks. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
