NEW DELHI, Jun 1 (NNN-PTI) – India’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth, during the previous financial year from Apr, 2023 to Mar, 2024, recorded a jump of nearly 1.2 percent from a year earlier, according to data released by the federal Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, yesterday.
The country’s GDP grew 8.2 percent for the full year, and 7.8 percent during the last quarter (Jan-Mar, 2024) of the financial year, it said.
According to media reports, the GDP growth was better than what most economists had predicted.
The Reserve Bank of India had forecasted a 6.9 percent growth in real GDP for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2023-2024, with a full-year projection of 7.6 percent.– NNN-PTI
