5.4-Magnitude Earthquake Shook Parts Of Bangladesh

DHAKA, May 31 (NNN-BSS) – An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4, jolted parts of Bangladesh, including the capital, Dhaka, on Wednesday night.

The tremor lasted for a few seconds, according to the U.S. Geological Survey and the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

According to on-duty forecasting official, Farzana Sultana, at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, it hit at about 7:13 p.m. local time on Wednesday.

She said, the epicentre was monitored in Myanmar.

Fire service officers in Dhaka said, they had not received any report of damage or casualty yet.

Bangladesh, which sits in the zone of earthquakes, is prone to tremors.– NNN-BSS
