AYBAK, Afghanistan, May 28 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Six security personnel have been confirmed dead, after the Taliban insurgents attacked security checkpoints in Afghanistan’s northern Samangan province, district governor, Abdul Yaqin said, Tuesday.
The insurgents, according to Yaqin, launched the attacks on security checkpoints in Dara-e-Suf Payan district, late Monday, triggering gun battle which lasted for a few hours.
However, the official could not give the casualties of the attacking militants, saying, the Taliban militants fled after suffering “huge casualties.”
The Taliban group has not commented on the offensive yet.– NNN-AGENCIES
