Vietnam’s Trade Surplus Reaches 8.01 Billion USD In Five Months

HANOI, May 29 (NNNVNA) – Vietnam saw a trade surplus of 8.01 billion U.S. dollars in the first five months of this year, according to the country’s General Statistics Office, today.

The office reported that, during the cited period, the total import-export turnover of goods hit 305.53 billion dollars, up 22.6 percent year on year, with exports increasing by 15.2 percent and imports surging by 18.2 percent, compared to the same period last year.

From Jan to May, a total of seven exporting items, including electronics, computers, components, phones, garment and textile, footwear, and timber, reported revenues of over five billion dollars, accounting for 65.3 percent of the total export value.– NNN-VNA
